Just an attempt to keep the anger alive.

New Delhi, Sep 13, 2008: 26 people killed in six blasts across the city.
Ahmedabad, July 26, 2008: 57 people killed after 20-odd synchronised bombs went off within less than two hours.
Bangalore, July 25, 2008: One person killed in a low-intensity bomb explosion.
Jaipur, May 13, 2008: 68 people killed in serial bombings.
Hyderabad, Aug 25, 2007: 42 people killed in two blasts, at a popular eatery and a public park.
Samjhauta Express, Feb 19, 2007: 66 people killed after two firebombs went off on the India-Pakistan friendship train.
Malegaon, Maharashtra, Sep 8, 2006: 40 people killed in two blasts.
Mumbai, July 11, 2006: 209 people killed in seven blasts on suburban trains and stations.
Varanasi, March 7, 2006: 21 people killed in three blasts including one at a temple and another at a railway station.
New Delhi, Oct 29, 2005: 61 people killed in three blasts on the eve of Diwali.
Mumbai, Aug 25, 2003: 46 people killed in two blasts including one near the Gateway of India.

I listed down the details above to remind myself every day that I should not wait untill I loose my close one.

When I'm writing this post, lots of thoughts are going through my mind and they are all frustrating. When 26/11 happened we all made sincere attempts to oppose the system and tried our best ways to change this system. But what happened after that is even more frustrating, I still do not see government taking any concrete steps. Probably because they still believe that people of this country are going to forget every attack after 6 months.

But this time they are wrong. We want answers. We want solution. We can not let this continue anymore.

Why still we do not see our politicians taking this problem seriously? Why do we still even listen to Kasab's lawyer? Why cant we just hang him right away? Why did not America face any terrorist attacks after 9/11 and why is india facing attack after attack? There are endless whys!!!

How we can keep this anger alive all the time and have some permenant solution to this problem? I personally dont see government making any sincere attempts in this direction. We probably need to remind them all the time that we are not going to forget this and we need a permenant solution to this. Just a resignation from home minister and forming few national security agencies is not going to work. You got to take some concrete steps.

I leave this discussion open for all of you to give your thoughts / suggestions.

Darshit, a lot of this has to do with the "Chalta Hai" attitude of us. We have developed habit of terming our weakness as tolerance. Also there is a lot of apathy towards almost everything, even if it touches our own life. The problem is that the most of us are not ready to go thru security check. Everyone in this country seems to be related to the politicians and it's easy to breach security invoking such connections. When we start treating politicians the way general people should be treated, we can hope for something better.

The solution lies in the community policing. All the citizens should be aware of the threat of terrorism and we have to take responsibility to tackle it at small community level - e.g. We can have group of people taking care of a street or small area. They must be responsible for the security of that area. When we develop such attitude, next-gen leaders will come from such small communities who will take such attitude to general politics.

A short answer to this debate was already plotted in hindi movie "Wednesday". That is what "helpless" people of India should do.

Also, we have already captured one named "Kasab". We can plan our own "Wednesday"!! .. What do you think.. :) If this happens (by whoever), then I really believe that "India is Rising".

Brijesh, your idea of distributing the responsibility of each area to small groups rather then relying solely on one source is something I strongly believe in and can be the only long term solution to the problem.

Jigar, when I saw wednesday I thought the same thing, that yes this is the way to fight terror in this country. But i still doubt its a long term solution to the problem, we'll end up spreading more hatred and creating more terrorists by this approach. What do you think?

After this LS election and clear verdict to get majority, I sincerely hope some strong steps considering not any excuses like Left didnt support or someone didnt support... I didnt see any hurdle to implement any strong law other than congress it self considering their political gambit to not to hurt Muslims to curb terrorism..

I like what USA did with Saddam Hussein though it does seems Good to Human rights activits ;)

The biggest reason why India is facing such issues still & will continue if they do not change is carelessness... Every person is just too self-centered... wants eveything for himself...not like the ones who died for others.....gave their lives for an Independent India .....for us to breathe in...live in.....

The reason why America has not faced any issues aft that incident is they are very much focused on wat they wanna do ...irrespective of any person/ his designation, his hold in the society ...

I wud like to point out to the latesh Shah rukh incident ...why are people taking it personally, why is Shah rukh so upset on them taking safety precautions for their country ... every country has the right to do so...its just taht we take it too lightly...not because America has done this to one of the Known celebrities of India so we shud take measures to do so with Americans also ...it shud be done for any nationality... We need to have proper safety measures for our own selves ...why not ... Why is Shah rukh offended...he shud be appreciating that America is where it is now because of its principles ..... We too need to set an example for everyone ...& see into our own selves before pointing others....it cud have been any other khan who is not at all a celebrity & just a normal human being from India ...or any part of this world ...
